Swiss Fondue

1 clove garlic
-
1 pound Swiss cheese,
diced
-
Salt and pepper to
taste
-
1 1/4 - 1 1/2 cups
white wine
-
5 or 6 teaspoons
cornstarch

2 tablespoons kirsch
-
1 loaf French bread,
cut into bite-sized pieces
Rub the inside of a
ceramic cheese fondue pot with the garlic. Place the cheese in the pot
along with the salt, pepper, and enough wine to almost cover the cheese.
Place the ceramic pot over a larger pot filled with boiling water. Cook on
the stove over medium heat until the cheese melts, stirring constantly back and
forth - never around
